Kia ora!
I am Daria. Originally from Russia, I've called New Zealand home for the past decade. Recently, I completed the Masters of User Experience Design programme at Victoria University of Wellington. Now, having finished my internship at AskNicely, I'm seeking a role where I can collaborate with teams and customers to craft intuitive experiences, making the world easier to navigate.
My career started as a copywriter at an advertising agency, where I found my passion for crafting engaging content and telling stories that resonate with users. After moving to New Zealand, I held various roles in hotels and tertiary education engaging with customers, gathering feedback, leading workshops, and consistently working to improve processes and products. It was during this time that I discovered UX design and realised it was the path I wanted to pursue.
What excites me about design is the opportunity to drive positive change, regardless of its scale. I aspire to be a designer who prioritises users in every design decision while also aligning with business goals.
To engage with others, listen, welcome, involve and embrace their experience.
To take the first step, make a change, admit not having all the answers.
To have a beginner's mind, learn about people, their stories and the decisions they make.
To be patient and receptive to human needs, using design and collaboration to address them.
